gps offers students of Grade 11 and Grade 12 the option to choose from two boards, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) from Cambridge, UK. Grade 9, 10 and 12 classes commence in the month of May. Grade 11 classes commence in June.
Central Board of Secondary Examinations, Delhi conducts final examinations every spring for All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) for Class 12. The AISSCE or 12th board examination is a centralized examination for class 12 students in India conducted during the period of March and April every year. The number of subjects, types of examination (theoretical, practical or both) are varied and the grading methods help assess a variety of learning skills of each student. Clearing AISSCE or its equivalent is mandatory for pursuing Higher education or under graduate courses in India.
Students wishing to appear for the CBSE board will have to join up for a period of 2 academic years i.e., Grade 11 and Grade 12. Direct admission to Grade 12 is not possible.
Cambridge International Exams are internationally benchmarked qualifications providing excellent preparation for university education. Good grades at A and AS Level can result in one full year of advanced standing or credit at universities in the USA and Canada. It is accepted as an entry qualification by universities of the European Union, on a par with the French Baccalaureate, the German Abitur etc. In India, the Association of India Universities has recognized the A Levels as being at par with CBSE,ICSE etc.
Students clearing their A Levels are eligible for admission to colleges throughout India. Cambridge A Levels develops learner knowledge, understanding and skills in subject content, applying knowledge and understanding to familiar and new situations, intellectual enquiry, flexibility and responsiveness to change, working and communicating in English, influencing outcomes and cultural awareness. Senior School academics involves lectures, assignments, field trips, presentations and projects.
