The National Green Certificate was presented to Thiruvaniyoor Global Public School by Padma Shri Sunita Narain, environmentalist and Director General, Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), New Delhi. Green School Coordinator of GPS Kusum Richard received the certificate at the Green Schools carnival at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on 30 Jan 2024.

The CSE conducts yearly audits on resource management and environment friendly practices within school premises. After rigorous evaluations on the level of eco-friendly practices inculcated by various schools and their students, the CSE awards and hails institutions which set a benchmark in this field. The Audit was done across different six fields of Air, Water, Energy, Food, Waste and Land and involved the inputs from students of grade 6, 7 and 8. The Green School coordinator Ms Kusum Richard led the program under the guidance of vice-principal Ms Susanna Sunil.
