Former Indian professional footballer and Arjun awardee, Padma Shri Bhaichung Bhutia inaugurated the GPS Super Slam- the first Inter School Basketball, Football, Swimming and Triathlon Tournament on 18th November.

India’s former ace football striker and Founder of the Baichung Bhutia Soccer School, Mr. Baichung  Bhutia was given a rousing welcome at the school even as he expressed delight in the school’s girl’s football team.

The three day event will witness around 600 students from more than 30 schools sweating it out to win the first ever Super Slam trophy.

With multi-level competitions in swimming, football, basketball and triathlon (a multisport race with three continuous and endurance activities in cycling, swimming and running), the Super Slam will conclude on 20th November.

School Chairman, Mr P. Jacob, Director, Mr. Johan Jacob, Mentor, Mrs. Lakshmi Ramachandran, Dean and Principal, Mr. Sreekumar Kartha as well as former Indian national men’s basketball team captain, Mr C.V Sunny graced the inaugural function on 18th November which was held at 8.30 am.
