IB Core Principle

Academic Integrity

Honest, original work is the foundation of an IB education. This policy defines what academic integrity means at GPS Brookes Kochi — how we teach it from the earliest years, how we uphold it through the MYP and DP, and how breaches such as plagiarism, collusion or misuse of AI tools are investigated. It sets out students' rights and responsibilities, the role of teachers and coordinators, and the pathways for support and remediation.

Whole-school policies

  • Entry & Enrolment

    Admissions Policy

A transparent view of how families join our IB community — eligibility, the assessment and interview process, priority considerations, and the documents required at each stage. It also explains how we support new students and families through the transition into school life.

  • Wellbeing & Conduct

    Behaviour Policy

How we build a positive, respectful learning environment through clearly held expectations, restorative conversations and graduated interventions. It covers our approach to bullying, our anti-discrimination stance, and the balance of care and consequence that shapes every classroom.

  • Access & Equity

    Inclusive Education Policy

Every learner belongs. This policy sets out how the school identifies, plans for and supports students with a wide range of learning profiles — including differentiation in the classroom, specialist support, individual education plans, and assessment access arrangements aligned with IB inclusive-assessment guidance.

  • Academic

    Language Policy

How language for learning is nurtured across our IB continuum. English is the language of instruction, with mother-tongue and additional-language pathways woven through the curriculum — giving every student the linguistic tools to think, communicate and contribute in more than one voice.

  • Feedback & Governance

    Complaints Procedure

A clear, confidential path for any concern a parent, guardian or student wishes to raise — from an informal conversation with the class teacher through to formal escalation to the Coordinator, Principal and Board. Every complaint is handled promptly, fairly and in confidence.

  • Digital Citizenship

    IT User Policy

The expectations that keep our digital environment safe, respectful and productive — appropriate use of school devices and networks, online conduct, data protection, and the boundaries around personal technology on campus.

  • Digital Citizenship

    Student Technology Agreement

The commitment students make when using school-issued and personal devices as part of their learning — care of equipment, responsible content sharing, and the shared standards that keep our classrooms focused and our community safe online.

Programme-specific policies

Additional policies that apply to a specific IB programme stage — the PYP in the primary years, and the MYP and DP in secondary.

  • PYP

    Assessment Policy — PYP

How assessment works in the Primary Years — a rich mix of observation, portfolios, learning conversations and student-led reflection that keeps children at the heart of their own progress.

  • PYP

    Language Policy — PYP

The PYP lens on language learning — inquiry-driven, transdisciplinary, and grounded in the belief that language shapes how young learners make sense of the world.

  • MYP · DP

    Assessment Policy

How students in the Middle Years and Diploma Programme are assessed against IB criteria — formative feedback, summative tasks, internal moderation, and the pathway to strong external results.
