October, the month of breast cancer awareness was commemorated by a special talk by renowned oncologist, Dr Aju Mathew on 10th October. Dr Aju Mathew, an American Board certified medical oncologist and hematologist as well as assistant professor at the National Cancer Institute – designated Markey Cancer Center of the University of Kentucky, enlightened the students about the causes and treatment through an overview of the history of cancer treatment.

Dr Mathew left the children with a mnemonic “BREAST”- Be Aware Examine if Abnormal Seek Treatment, to remember the importance of early detection and treatment.
