gps was among the 7 schools from the district to attend the Consultation on Child Rights , Elimination of Corporal Punishment and Maintaining Discipline in Schools.

Ms. Indu Panicker, Principal and Ms. Seema Lal attended this conference organised by the Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) at Poojapura, Thiruvananthapuram on 18th Nov, 2015. 

Salient points from the RTE ( Right to Education Act) , JJ Act (Juvenile Justice Act) were highlighted along with tips on how to deal CSA ( Child Sexual Abuse) when reported by students or parents.

The importance of Peer Support, Mentoring by Teachers, Parent Partnership, Student Parliament, Life Skill Classes, Seeking Professional Help when it comes to Behavioral and Learning Difficulties was stressed upon.

The Consultation proved to be insightful and fruitful and in tandem with the policy of the school.
