Onam celebrations are all about and some reminiscences of the history of harvest, agriculture and goodness, but this year Global Public School dis it with a difference. Apart from the folk songs, vadam vali, vaal Pari, onam cooking, onam fashion show events the students had pookalams made from recycled material- Dry leaves, sticks, fiber, some fruits, roots, cotton, husks; Sawdust, ash were used. 

But what captured the hearts and minds of the entire school was the unique  Chendamelam played by five students and their grandmother! The twenty-five minute Chendamelam began in the school.lawn and gathered the whole school.behind time in a procession to the Auditorium in the morning. 

Proud Grandmother Jayashree P along with Advait Parameswaran, Suraj S Namboothiri, Dakshin S. Namboothiri, Abhinav Parameswaran, Darshin S Namboothiri played in beautiful synchronization as their guru  Sadanam Ratheesh Ilathalam Abhishek R joined in. Belonging to the  Sridhareeyam family, the students are studying Chendamelam along with Kathakali. The rest of the school were mesmerized by the wonderful sight and could not stop their applause.
