GPS Super Slam Football Tournament kicks off with the Indian Blind Football Exhibition Match
The five-day, six-sport Super Slam 2024 tournament kicked off with a special exhibition match by the Indian Blind Football Team. Coach Sunil J. Matthew from the Indian Blind Football Federation showcased the unique skills and techniques used by blind athletes, leaving the audience impressed. The football finals for boys and girls (U-19) are scheduled for 25th October, alongside the ongoing basketball competition.
In the volleyball competition, Sacred Hearts CMI Public School (Thevara) secured first place in the Boys U-19 category, while Bhavans Newsprint Velloor claimed second. In the Girls U-19 category, Vidyodaya School (Thevakkal) came first, with The Choice School (Tripunithura) finishing second.
The Choice School dominated in badminton, becoming overall champions, while Global Public School secured second place.
Global Public School also took the overall athletics trophy, with Chavara Darshan CMI Public School (Koonamavu) finishing second.
In the 3X3 basketball tournament, Little Flower Koratty won the Girls’ category, and St. Ephrem School (Mannanam) won the Boys’ category.
