gpsites shine at the IIMUN
Team gps consisting of 14 students outperformed themselves at The Indian International Model United Nations 2015 organized by Excelsior English School, Kottayam on 27th – 29th November 2015.
The IIMUN is an academic simulation of the UN where students don the hats of diplomats and attempt to solve global issues. With articulate and good research capabilities as well as sound knowledge of local, national and international current affairs, our students were able to put up a very promising performance at the event.
Sean Sunil Vattapilly was declared the Best Delegate and won the 1st prize in his category as a representative of Peru in the International Olympic Committee.
Lakshmi Sunil Menon and Nihkita Nainwal who were part of the Historic Security Council (UK) earned high Recommendations along with 2nd Prizes in their events. Sahibjeet Singh of the Human Rights Council (DMRK) was also highly recommended when he won the 2nd prize, whereas Merly Maria Jomy won a Special Mention and a 3rd prize.
The event which had over 300 participants from around 17 schools from Kerala was not only a competition, but also a center for learning as students were be exposed to a myriad of opportunities.
