Beyond the Dunes: Global Public School at the Round Square International Conference 2025

Global Public School proudly participated in the prestigious Round Square International Conference 2025, themed “Beyond the Dunes,” held from September 19–25 in Sharjah and Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Hosted by GEMS Modern Academy, The Millennium School, and The Indian High School, the conference brought together over 1,500 delegates from 155 schools across 28 countries.

Representing GPS were students Diya Deepak, Paul Abraham, Advaith Parameswar, Jerome Joe, and Rushil Rincy, accompanied by Ms. Lathika Divya and Ms. Meera Devadutt. Throughout the week, our delegation actively embraced the Round Square IDEALS—International Understanding, Democracy, Environmental Stewardship, Adventure, Leadership, and Service.

The journey began with a warm welcome and a memorable desert camp experience featuring cultural performances, camel rides, and traditional hospitality. The grand opening ceremony set the tone for a week of collaboration and cultural exchange, followed by engaging Baraza discussions and a scenic dhow cruise.

Each day focused on a core theme—from environmental sustainability activities and Climate Fresk sessions to the inspiring “Hello Zindagi” service initiative supporting people of determination. Students also participated in adventure challenges, wadi treks near the Oman border, and wellness sessions, fostering teamwork, empathy, and resilience. A vibrant cultural showcase and a fundraising souk for Dubai Cares highlighted GPS’s spirit of service.

The conference concluded with a grand closing ceremony and cultural celebrations, leaving our students enriched with global friendships, leadership skills, and unforgettable memories.

The Round Square International Conference 2025 was truly a transformative journey—taking our students beyond the dunes and towards becoming compassionate global leaders.
