Global Public School ranks among India’s top 6% greenest campuses; bags CSE Award for 4th Year

Global Public School (GPS) has once again cemented its status as a national leader in sustainability by securing the prestigious ‘GREEN’ rating at the CSE Green School Awards 2025–26. Out of 7,407 schools evaluated across India by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), GPS emerged among an elite 6 per cent to earn the coveted top-tier rating. This marks the fourth consecutive year the school has received this recognition, highlighting its unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and a carbon-neutral campus.

The recognition follows a rigorous, student-led audit under the Green Schools Programme (GSP), which assessed the institution’s footprint across six critical areas: Air, Energy, Food, Land, Water, and Waste. The CSE jury specifically commended GPS for its high-impact initiatives, including its heavy reliance on solar power, the operation of a Bio-gas (B80) plant, and a robust “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle” culture. By involving students directly in the audit process, the school transforms sustainability from a textbook concept into a real-world practice, fostering a generation of environmentally conscious citizens.

At the awards ceremony held in New Delhi, Sunita Narain, Director General of CSE, noted that while the national average of ‘Green’ rated schools has grown to 6 per cent this year, consistent performers like GPS set the gold standard for institutional responsibility. By embedding sustainable resource management into its daily operations, Global Public School continues to prove that educational institutions can serve as powerful hubs for ecological change, creating a lasting impact that extends far beyond the campus gates and into the local community.
