Students of Global Public School, Ernakulam were indeed privileged to attend the contemporary dance workshop, conducted by Ms. Beth Graczyk, a NYC-based dance-theater performer at school on June 7, 2019.
Ms. Beth Graczyk is a choreographer, a performer, and a scientist whose research bridges the worlds of dance and science through inquiry into the creative process and its ramifications on societal issues and outcomes. For the past 17 years, Graczyk has performed throughout the United States as well as in Japan, Ecuador, France and India, participating in over 50 dance projects both as a dancer and a choreographer. Concurrently, she has contributed to 10 science publications in the field of cancer research, including a first author paper in Analytical Biochemistry.
Ms. Beth Graczyk led the students of Global Public School through dance/ theater creation and improvisation, along with discussion of performance research and ways that the creative processes in the sciences merge and cross-pollinate with dance-making. She also urged the dancers to strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements.
Ms. Beth Graczyk who is currently touring the sub-continent, conducted the workshop in Global Public School, Ernakulam.
