Reading Day 2018

Global Public School celebrates “Reading Day”.

Read, read and read some more! That was the schedule as students of Global Public School joined the rest of the state in celebrating Reading Day on June 19th.

June 19 marks the death anniversary of P. N. Panicker, an exponent of the library movement of Kerala and is commemorated as Reading day in Kerala.

As part of the celebrations, the school conducted a session of DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) in the morning. Students of grade 1-12 dropped everything else and buried themselves in their favourite book in the morning as part of the DEAR session. The children and teachers took time to pause from their textbooks and immerse themselves in the fantasy world of books and letters.

Later in the day, parent volunteers conducted a reading session of excerpts of famous books to hone and encourage students to appreciate books.

Students and parents browsed through the grand display of books and publications at the 2 day exhibition held in school in connection with Reading day.
