The First Steps Symposium was organized by the First Steps School of Arts and Sciences inspired by the Round Square ideals. The aim of the symposium was to provide a global platform in which we could present our social enterprise as solutions to existing environmental problems. Myself, Riya Mary Pratap and Thomas Savio Kidangan were able to present our social enterprise ‘Connect’ which focused on the development of growing businesses. The opportunity provided was immense as we were able to collaborate with schools from around the world while sharing our own ideas and moving towards a common goal of sustainability. The ideas presented by other schools have shown me that there is so much more to our surroundings than what the eye meets and we all can be a catalyst for positive change.
