Setting a new benchmark in educator well-being initiatives, Global Public School (GPS) successfully organised what is believed to be Kochi’s first-ever Inter-School Staff Football Tournament, and possibly the first of its kind in Kerala. The tournament brought together staff teams from seven schools across Kochi, reinforcing the importance of health, fitness, and camaraderie among educators.

Conceptualised to promote physical and mental well-being, the initiative recognised that educators play a vital role in shaping young minds and deserve platforms that encourage balance, teamwork, and stress relief beyond the classroom. The tournament created an opportunity for teaching and non-teaching staff to connect through sport, fostering inter-school bonding and a strong sense of community.

The matches were marked by high energy and sportsmanship, culminating in an exciting final where the Cochins & Charter team emerged as winners, defeating Global Public School, who finished as runners-up, with a final score of 2–0.

School authorities noted that such initiatives not only encourage healthier lifestyles among educators but also contribute to a more positive and collaborative school environment, ultimately benefiting students as well.

Through this pioneering Inter-School Staff Football Tournament, Global Public School reaffirmed its commitment to holistic education — one that values the well-being of educators as much as academic excellence.
