Rene Richie Achieves Gold at The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
We are proud to share that Rene Richie of A Level (AY 2025–26), GPS International, has been honoured with the prestigious Gold Award from the The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award — the highest distinction offered under this globally recognised youth development programme. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is an internationally acclaimed initiative that challenges young people to develop essential life skills, enhance their physical fitness, embrace adventure, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Earning the Gold Award is a remarkable achievement. Participants are required to commit a minimum of 18 months to consistently developing a personal skill, engaging in voluntary service, and improving their physical abilities. The programme also includes a rigorous three-day adventurous journey, where students camp in tents and acquire valuable survival skills in the wilderness.
As part of the additional Gold Residential Project requirement, Rene served as an Assistant Camp Leader during a winter camp at Suryanelli, Munnar, demonstrating leadership and responsibility beyond the core programme expectations.Rene’s dedication, perseverance, and unwavering commitment have truly paid off. She will be felicitated at a special award ceremony scheduled to be held in New Delhi this April.Heartiest congratulations to Rene on this outstanding accomplishment!
