Celebrating Excellence: Annual Awards Evening 2012
To set a goal and reach it! To strive for the unattainable and attain it! To put your heart and sinew and strain against all odds and make a difference! Yes we saluted our young ones on this Annual Day 2012
Students across all grades @ GPS came up on stage to win accolades for displaying the true characteristics of winners. The Annual Prize Day event was inaugurated by none other than Mr Kochouseph Chittilappilly. His lovely wife, Ms Sheila Kochouseph gave away the prizes.
The tone for the evening was set by the school choir with the message ” Let there be Peace on Earth. Parents and other invitees watched in awe as the school choir sang the School Anthem. The invocation dance-Taal choreographed by our dance teacher Ms Sreedevi gave a fitting start to the program.
And then there was the annual report…no, no not a dreary report read out and guaranteed to put everyone to sleep….it was actually a conversation among the six who shepherd the school and are in the forefront of all our achievements. Led by the Dean, Ms Lakshmi Ramachandran, Head-Enrichment Shamim Mohamed, Headmistress Ms Annie Inasu, Vice-Principal (academics) Ms Usha Menon, Vice Principal (Admin) Ms Indu Panicker and stepping stones head Ms Serah Varghese the audience were witness to a unique tete-a-tete that showcased the Year that went by!
The prize ceremony was followed by Kaleidoscope – a cultural program put up by our Senior School students. A mix of songs, pulsating music and vibrant dance ..was a show really worth watching! The Haywire band with their own composition “Patchwork”, an adaptation of Adele’s “Rumour Has It”, a fast moving group dance performance and a shipping from Hairspray were the main highlights.
