Our Senior School students embarked on an adventure on 10-Sept, when Lt. Cdr. Abhilash Tomy, the first Indian, second Asian and Seventy ninth in the world to circumnavigate the globe solo in 151 days came calling @ GPS.

The brave seafarer with his tales of grit, courage and valour heightened the patriotic fervour of the young ones as he displayed photos and videos of the Indian Flag fluttering high on the high seas.

Grade 4 students who had done a project on him in term 1, were really astonished to shake hands with a real life hero.

The Kirti Chakra awardee spoke from his heart and left a deep impression on the audience as he spoke about the mission Sagar Parikrama II. His enduring   love for  the Navy, his Gurus ,his boat MHADEI and most of all to India came shining throughout his presentation that was replete with apt quotes, visuals and humour. 
Lt. Cdr. Abhilash Tomy was eloquent on the how he used social media as a tool to reach out to millions and expressed that GPSites would be responsible in their usage of the same. His short video “Less Is MORE” on his journey moved students and staff alike to give him a standing ovation.
