As part of the The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme, our students embarked on an unforgettable Adventurous Journey to Kolukkumalai, one of the highest tea-growing regions in the world. Surrounded by misty trails and breathtaking landscapes, the expedition offered far more than scenic views—it became a powerful learning experience beyond the classroom.

Throughout the journey, students trekked together across challenging terrain, demonstrating perseverance and determination. Embracing their responsibility towards environmental stewardship, they actively collected litter along the trails, reinforcing the importance of protecting and preserving nature.

The experience also fostered independence and teamwork. Students planned and cooked their own meals, tried their hand at archery, and supported one another through every step of the trek. Whether navigating steep paths or working collaboratively at the campsite, they learnt valuable lessons in leadership, cooperation, and self-reliance.

The journey concluded with muddy shoes, tired smiles, and hearts full of accomplishment. More importantly, students returned with strengthened character, deeper friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime.

This Adventurous Journey truly embodied the spirit of experiential learning—proving that the greatest lessons are often learnt when we step beyond our comfort zones.
